On September 17, the Culture and Society Committee of the Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Council conducted a field survey on community-based tourism at Hoang Tram Agarwood Farm (Dien Tho Commune, Dien Khanh District). The activity aims to assess the current situation and evaluate the effectiveness of policies supporting community-based tourism development in the province.

Survey at Hoang Tram Agarwood Farm

During the visit, the delegation explored the scale of operations, tourism promotion activities, product and service development at the farm. At the same time, the survey team recorded information on how businesses access support policies for tourism development, especially community-based tourism under the Resolutions of the Provincial People’s Council.

Hoang Tram Agarwood Farm currently has about 30 hectares of Aquilaria trees, planted since 2002. Since 2014, the farm has combined tourism development, welcoming many domestic and international visitors to explore the traditional agarwood craft of Khanh Hoa. The farm’s representative proposed that authorities support the project of developing Aquilaria forests in combination with eco-tourism and wellness, while enhancing the promotion of products to attract more tourists.

Expanding surveys to other community-based tourism sites

In the coming time, the Culture and Society Committee of the Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Council will continue to survey several other community-based tourism sites across the province. The purpose is to evaluate funding for tourism development, update the implementation of support policies, and orient community tourism linked with rural economy, islands, mountainous areas, and ethnic minority communities.

This activity will provide a foundation for recommending more effective policies, thereby promoting sustainable development of community-based tourism in Khanh Hoa.
