Khanh Hoa strengthens state management of international tourist arrivals
Written by Kong Forest - August 21, 2025The People’s Committee of Khanh Hoa Province has recently issued an official dispatch directing stronger state management of international tourist arrivals, aiming to enhance economic efficiency and promote sustainable growth of the local tourism industry.
Comprehensive measures to boost tourism development
Accordingly, the Provincial People’s Committee requested relevant departments and localities to intensify communication, strictly implement assigned tasks, especially those directed by the Prime Minister in Official Telegram No. 34 dated April 10, 2025.
Key solutions include:
Strengthening tourism promotion and diversifying high-quality products.
Accelerating digital transformation and green transition in tourism.
Facilitating international tourists’ access to destinations.
Enhancing destination management, controlling service quality, and strictly handling violations to build a tourism environment that is safe – civilized – friendly.
Roles of departments and units
Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism: Strengthen management of tourist sites, inspect tour operators, tour guides, accommodations, and promptly handle violations. Coordinate with other agencies to unlock tourism potential and improve the quality of key destinations.
Provincial Inspectorate: Lead inspections on tourism service quality, strictly sanction violations such as overcharging, scams, commercial fraud, and illegal tour guiding.
Provincial Police: Ensure security and order, enhance immigration management, monitor temporary residence and foreign workers in the tourism sector.
Department of Industry and Trade: Inspect tourist-serving shops, handle violations related to product quality and trade fraud.
Khanh Hoa Tax Department: Prevent tax losses, simplify VAT refund procedures for foreign tourists, and apply digital solutions for better service.
State Bank of Vietnam – Branch Region 10: Develop modern e-payment services and strengthen cross-border payment connectivity with key tourism markets.
Tourism Associations of Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa and Ninh Thuan: Improve professional training, ethics for tourism workforce, and organize high-quality tourism stimulus programs.
Communal People’s Committees: Strengthen grassroots tourism management, inspect business conditions, and promote tourism etiquette among local communities.
Tourism performance in the first 7 months of 2025
According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Khanh Hoa, in the first 7 months of 2025:
The province welcomed over 10.8 million visitors, up 16% year-on-year.
Of which, international arrivals reached 3.2 million (up 13.6%), while domestic arrivals reached 7.6 million (up 17.1%).
Total tourism revenue was estimated at 42,379 billion VND, an increase of 17.2% compared to the same period in 2024.

The directive of the Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee to strengthen state management of international tourist arrivals not only contributes to improving service quality, but also affirms the determination to build the image of Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa as a destination that is safe, attractive, and sustainable on the tourism map of Vietnam and the world.
